hallo !

Germany's central location in Europe has affected its history in both positive and negative ways. It has nine neighbors, which is more than any other European country.

Germany is known and called by "Land of Poets and Thinkers". Germans are well known in all fields of art, but especially in classical music. Bach, Brahms, Schumann, Wagner, and Beethoven are among Germany's most influential artists.

The German government is committed to protecting the country's nature. In Germany, there are 97 natural reserves, the largest of which being the Black Forest. Despite these efforts, numerous species, including whales, beavers, and minks, are close to extinction.

Germany was in destroys after losing World War II. West Germany rebounded to become Europe's wealthiest country, but communist-controlled East Germany dropped far behind. Germany committed billions of dollars to rebuild the East after independence in 1989 also the country was divided into two parts: west and east it became a flashpoint in a conflict between the Soviet Union and Western countries. The Cold War was the name given to this 44-year conflict it ended in 1989 when East Germany opened its borders.

Today, nearly one out of every 10 Germans is a foreigner. More than at any other period in history. The Turkish are the largest minority, having arrived in the 1950s to work. Christians represent for over two-thirds of Germans.

Germany is a great power with a strong economy; it is Europe's largest economy. It is both the world's third-largest exporter and importer of commodities, as a global leader in various industrial, scientific, and technological fields. As a developed country with a high Human Development Index, it provides social security and a universal health care system, as well as environmental protections and free university education. Germany is a member of the United Nations, NATO, the G7, the G20, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). It is home to the third-most UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

what about German cuisine?

Traditional German cuisine and drink is probably likely more exciting than most newcomers and visitors imagine. While regional differences in food culture exist, most German recipes include bread, potatoes, and meat, particularly ham, as well as loads of greens like cabbage and kale. Cake, coffee, and beer are all popular in German cuisine, which will come as welcome news to most!

1- Käsespätzle

a dish from Germany's southwest, is made by layering little Spätzle noodles with grated cheese and topping with fried onion. It's typically served with a salad and, on occasion, applesauce.

Those coming to Germany from the United States or the United Kingdom will discover that this is the closest thing to Macaroni Cheese they will get, and that it has greater depth and taste than their own home dish.

2- Brezel

Although they may be offered under either name, brezel is the German term for pretzel. Brezels are prepared with a long strip of dough that is folded into a knot and then boiled before being baked, and are available at bakeries and street booths. A crunchy brown crust and a lovely fluffy interior result.

It's then seasoned with salt, seeds, or cheese before being served with a mustard dip. Although the origins of the Brezel are controversial, they have long been associated with Christian festivals, with many people considering the knot shape as a representation of the holy trinity.
